The holidays are here.

Crowded streets and mobbed malls may be slowing us down, but there is some good news…outdoor weather has finally returned to Southwest Florida.

The days are still up above 80, but the nights are finally diving down into the frigid depths of 60 and below.  Our air-conditioners are getting well-deserved rests. The long pants and sweaters are climbing up out of the hidden corners of our closets.  The growth rate of our lawns, shrubs, and vines has decreased. And the threat of seasonal hurricanes dissipates with the formal end of tropical depression season.  We made it through another one unscathed.

If you happen to find yourself with a free moment or two, in between holiday shopping and enjoying the cool evenings, we’d love to invite you back to the Cape Coral Barometer for a quick look around.

Feature Story
Join us as we take a daytrip to the Calusa Heritage Trail in Pineland.  Let us cast doubt on the Christopher Columbus myths they taught you in grade school.  Acquaint yourselves with the original inhabitants of Lee County.   Descriptive phrases and pictures galore document this spiritually and historically relevant destination.

Restaurant Review
Our anonymous restaurant guru revisits a fallen favorite in St. James City.  Looking for the Lobster Shack, and its formerly famous lobster roll, he finds a new restaurant instead.  See how the Hogfish Grille stands up.

Find My FSBO
The Cape Coral Barometer launches a sister real estate website for homeowners who want to go it alone.  Find My FSBO aims to become the predominant “For Sale by Owner” website in Southwest Florida.  List your “For Sale by Owner” home on two major websites, until it sells, for a one time fee of only $99.
